THE HAZARDS OF FREELANCERS

The dilemma a web designing has to overcome is in deciding the true worthiness of the free lancer who are economical and give the feeling of specialist. But in reality owing to lack of infrastructure and sickness they are unable to complete the project. Hence keeping in mind the long term objective it is better to seek out other employable means.

The companies which employed freelancers sensed a lack of creativeness and dedications to mete out their objectives. They found them to be clumsy to redesign their websites, since they are employed elsewhere and were found wanting for the output.

It would hardly be surprising to find a lack of focused approach in them since they are invariably inaccessible due to time constraint and commitment at the place where they are employed.

More often than not, the freelancers are capable to specialize in a few areas while the requirement is for integration of diverse skills. A freelancer’s experience is far from comparable to that of a web designing firm. While a team of experts consolidates the strength of the company’ status it can least be expected for the freelancer to come up to expectations.

Another setback arises when the freelancer makes a deal with the client and doing away with the middlemen (the company who employs him).

They are like rolling stones drifting from company after company and do not provide stability. Lack of motivation of the freelancer deprives him of the need to keep him updated on news and developments on search engines.

When the need for the redesign of the web arises he would be found wanting to fulfill the needs. This may necessitate hiring yet another person which will add up to the expenditure.

Since the freelancers are not employed on contract, they are beyond litigation In the case of web designing firm; it is possible to find replacement in the event of an employee availing medical leave

Since the freelancers don’t have boss there is no pressure binding on them and in effect bring negative impact to the company where they are employed. The answer to this lies in several Web designing, development, and SEO companies who work for a reasonable price that also provide customized solutions to their clients. Availing their services will bring technical, creative, legal and administrative aspects well within reach.

THE MEANS TO IMPROVE RESPONSE RATE

‘AIDA’ is a standard formula a creating a sales or sign up page.

Despite making it clear about the payments and good flow of traffic, and when fast connections are available elsewhere with fast loading web pages the one in question may be too slow and takes long to load. The reasons are owing to the reasons listed herein.

Site is too hard to read

While picking up the colors and fonts of the site it is wise to the pick ones that are captivating that shows up well on the monitor.

Short paragraphs and empty spaces in between or numbered list ensuring space between the bullet items and if the list is really long alternate with either color or bold style of the list items.

Page requires special software to be seen or heard

Software that is attainable and free are better suited than a bevy of extra downloadable software for banners, audio and video work which a lot of visitors will never hear it or see it.

A page full of extra clutter

For the sake of traffic it is customary for some people to add several banner exchange banners, topped with Ads. In effect they clutter up the show

Though the banners bring credit, using one at the top and another at the bottom and for exposure to banner exchange programs splitting of the main page or creating some other page are better.

In order to enhance the response rate, bringing about different headlines, wording formatting, etc. and keeping away from making the aforesaid blunders will definitely yield desired results.

Creation of a page to perform well does not necessarily mean use of lot of images, unusual fonts and colors and the incorporation of the latest gadgets. In reality if the landing pages are simple, fast loading, easy to read and readable by everyone and focused will pave the way for better acceptability.

Hosting Platform and Enablement Services, Unveiled for Saas, at SAVVIS

St. Louis, Missouri - (The Hosting News) - October 2, 2008 - IT infrastructure services for business applications, Savvis, is preparing to launch a new solution, designed to assist independent software vendors (ISVs) in meeting the growing demand for service-based licensing and delivery applications.

Bill McNee, Founder and CEO, Saugatuck Technology remarked, ”Undoubtedly, SaaS has made it easier and more cost-effective to create, distribute and manage software; however, ISVs looking to adopt a SaaS delivery model have to address a number of key challenges to ensure their application is scalable, secure and multi-tenant. The reality is that successful ISVs and enterprise buyers not only need world-class managed hosting support, but an end-to-end software development ecosystem and cloud-based platform as they SaaS-ify their offerings, and create new value for end-users.”

SAVVIS’ comprehensive new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution will provide a secure, scalable, global, and function rich hosting platform that will enable fast, economical, and reliable deployment of SaaS applications. The offering is targeted at both ISVs entering the SaaS market and existing SaaS providers wanting to outsource their IT infrastructure so they can focus on their core business.

SAVVIS’ new SaaS solution is organized into three service categories that provide an expanded and highly differentiated suite of SaaS enablement capabilities.

Core Infrastructure Services - These are SAVVIS’ core managed hosting and security elements tailored to SaaS vendor needs. New services include multi-tenancy enablement, application fire-walling, and holistic application-centered service level agreements.
Lifecycle Services - This new category of services assists ISVs through all the tasks involved in development, integration, delivery and operation of their applications.
SAVVIS Marketplace - These services create connectivity and commercial opportunities between SAVVIS customers by lowering integration barriers. Local and global high speed connectivity optimized for SaaS delivery will increase potential for provider to provider and customer integration. Additionally SAVVIS will be creating marketplace awareness tools for use within SAVVIS’ customer base.

The result will be a centralized, scalable path that allows customers to develop, integrate, operate, and deliver their software to the Web to meet growing demand for virtualized applications.
SAVVIS’ new SaaS enablement services are being built upon SAVVIS’ existing global IT services platform that features a hosting footprint encompassing 29 data centers integrated with SAVVIS’ Tier 1 Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network. SAVVIS already serves dozens of ISVs and SaaS customers who have chosen SAVVIS’ IT infrastructure services to underpin their SaaS business models.
Key new SAVVIS SaaS services available now or in the near future across the three service categories outlined above include:

End-User Service Delivery and Multi-tenancy - Through an alliance with Parallels (announced separately today) SAVVIS is offering an additional option for achieving the scalability and efficiencies of multi-tenancy. This enables vendors to convert their software to operate in a SaaS environment quickly without re-architecting the application. In addition to speed-of-implementation, Parallels also supports ISVs in managing end user accounts. This includes expanded provisioning and billing capabilities as well as development of back office reports and utilization statistics for their end users. These features reduce costs to acquire, manage and support end users and further reduce the IT resources that ISVs need to support a SaaS software model.

Virtual Lab Automation and Management SAVVIS has contracted with Skytap, Inc., a leader in cloud-based virtual labs, to provide customers with on demand, IT infrastructure optimized for dynamic environments. These capabilities make it possible to rapidly build and configure application development and QA, training and IT prototyping environments using just a Web browser. This allows customers to accelerate time to market and reduce infrastructure costs typically associated with internal IT lab environments.
Application Monitoring - SAVVIS will offer key application performance monitoring features that will provide a real time view of their end users’ experience, as well as to establish service level agreements (SLAs) and 100% uptime performance metrics.
Comprehensive Security Portfolio - SAVVIS provides a comprehensive, multi-layered portfolio of security capabilities necessary for SaaS enablement including: data center physical security, network and application level firewalls, application authentication, intrusion detection, and DDoS mitigation. Each capability is backed by industry leading 24×7 monitoring and support.
Portal Features - The SAVVISStation portal provides ISVs with a wealth of monitors and operational statistics in a clean dash-board style interface. ISVs will be able to customize the SAVVIS portal to reflect their brand, eliminating the need for them to build their own portal. SAVVIS is also working with a variety of SaaS enablement providers to provide additional extensions to the platform. Plans call for customers to access these providers through a single web page on the SAVVIS portal.

SAVVIS, Inc. is a global IT infrastructure services firm for business applications. With an IT services platform spanning North America, Europe, and Asia, SAVVIS is an industry leader in delivering secure, reliable, and scalable hosting, network, and application services. These solutions enable customers to focus on their core business while SAVVIS ensures the quality of their IT systems and operations. SAVVIS’ strategic approach combines virtualization technology, a global network and multiple data centers, and automated management and provisioning systems.

Dedicated Server Firm, Layered Technologies, Deploys Network Upgrade

Plano, Texas - (The Hosting News) - October 2, 2008 - Self-managed, dedicated server products and utility services firm, Layered Technologies, Inc., has recently completed network upgrades in order to handle the complex requirements of enterprise-class customers for traditional and virtualization platforms.

With an eye toward simultaneously positioning Layered Tech to effectively manage its rapid growth, the network investments include expanding its number of carriers so that customers have a superior blend of Internet pathways. Level 3 Communications, Global Crossing and Sprint give Layered Tech’s customers strong overseas access, while SAVVIS, Internap and Time Warner provide U.S. Internet access. Layered Tech also enhanced access between its data centers with 10-gigabit circuits, while hardware upgrades include new Cisco switches in VSS configuration. The upgrades and improvements have resulted in faster, more reliable access for Layered Tech customers.

Jack Finlayson, CEO of Layered Tech noted, ”Our rapidly expanding customer base is fueling Layered Tech’s network investments whose benefits are particularly attractive to enterprise customers looking for advanced virtualization technologies. The network upgrade has been a major initiative since our acquisition of FastServers.Net earlier this year. We will continue to evolve our network to meet our customers’ needs, but we already know that Layered Tech offers the services, capacity, security and redundancy that other data centers and dedicated hosting providers just can’t match.”

The value of Layered Tech’s upgraded network was recently showcased when an enterprise customer, which provides an open-source blog publishing application, wanted to expand its presence into a second Layered Tech data center. Layered Tech was able to deploy 150 servers for the customer in less than a week at its Chicago data center, which was best-suited to handle the significant increase because of its enterprise-grade security and redundancy.

From its upgraded data centers, Layered Tech can now offer its DEFCON managed services to customers of Layered Tech’s Grid Layer virtual machines; previously the DEFCON services, which mitigate challenges commonly associated with the operations of hosted infrastructure, were available only to dedicated-server clients.

In addition, Layered Tech’s growing international presence resulted in the company adding data centers in Tokyo and Amsterdam, providing overseas customers important local points of presence. This overseas expansion gives Layered Tech the global reach to address hosting requirements of the largest multinational companies.

Jeremy Suo-Anttila, CTO at Layered Tech explained, ”The network upgrades have solidified Layered Tech’s leadership position in both enterprise-class services and virtualization technologies. With our virtual private data centers, Layered Tech can provide customers with private switches, firewalls and load-balancing devices that aren’t available from most data centers or dedicated hosting providers. Layered Tech can build out the infrastructure required by enterprise-class customers, who have highly complex designs. We deliver the platform customers need, whether it’s dedicated servers or a virtual computing environment, and we wrap our flexible and customized managed services around those configurations. These capabilities are uncommon, and Layered Tech is proud to offer them.”

Layered Technologies, Inc. is a global provider of on-demand hosting, utility computing solutions and web services. By providing high quality technology, infrastructure and support we enable customers to forego capital expenses and save on operating costs while focusing on core business issues. Layered Technologies’ scalable infrastructure powers millions of sites and Internet enabled applications including e-Commerce, Software as a Service (”SaaS”), content distribution and more. Its clients range from leading-edge Web 2.0 startups, successful mid-sized enterprises and some the world’s largest consultancy and integration firms.

Plan Ahead For Your Website Promotion

By uploading a website over the internet the owners of that site believe their work is done but actually that is where their work starts. Having to think that the many clicks on advertisements you get is the major accomplishment, then it is disappointing to say that you are setting the bar for yourself too low. Every advertising website’s owner believe that the more click he gets on the links or ads is enough for him/her to generate income but the real question is are those users will be visiting your website in the future? My assumption is no, until and unless you give them a reason to come back which can include great deals, products and offers as well as newsletters that keep your customer updated with free products and discounts. Let’s say you do attract many people to click on a link that will give you 35 cents per click. Although if you keep your focus on making people your regular customer, then initially you won’t make that 35 cents but a lot more in the future.
To think that 35 cent per click is your achievement is short term planning. A person who plans ahead and plans for long term they would prefer making a user their regular customer first. Give people incentives and benefits to come back to your website and keep coming back while you refresh and add new things to your webpage from time to time. People who make money through these advertisements keep making websites one after another to increase their income with 35 cents per click which is a waste of money, resources, bandwidth, web hosting providers and money that is spend on domain and hosting fees. This way the internet is being filled with money making websites without any benefits to the users. It is sad to know all of this went to waste due to lack of knowledge and usability. However, the point to focus on is to adopt the other option right now as it’s never too late.

Naming your Website

Many people love computers and love using the Internet for both personal and professional activities. However, most of us don’t know the first thing about designing a website, let alone naming it. People had not started designing websites and naming them until recently. When most of us created, designed, and named our first website, which was right after the Jordan Sea at the beginning of time, it was relatively easy. However, you may need to refine your website design and name because you created your website from scratch just like a good loaf of bread and a tasty batch of warm and chewy chocolate chip cookies, then a very low cost website design program with free graphic resources are readily available online.

In fact, when website creation and design was in its infancy content was critical to the success of the website. Some SEO people believe that today the content of one’s website doesn’t amount to much if anything. SEO people who claim this are very wrong. Today good website content and fresh website content is extremely important. It must be understood that today there is quite a bit of research done before creation of a website is even considered if one wants a high traffic website.

First, you must decide what type of impact you want your website to have; if you wish to have a website that reaches cooks and bakers then, it has to look quite a bit different then a website that targets stamp collectors. Once you know the primary objective and target of your website then, you must name your website. Naming your website may take quite a bit of time and careful consideration. It must be said that you are not today tied down to a website ending with either dot org or dot com. But, it is also very important to know that the naming of a website creates a first impression and first impressions are only made once. Therefore, it is important to make a good first impression when naming a website.
